Catherine Cornet is a PhD candidate at the University of Rome II and at the des Hautes Etudes en Sciences Sociales in Paris. She holds a Master Degree in Middle Eastern Politics from the School of Oriental and African Studies in London, a diploma d’études politiques from the Institut d’Etudes Politiques of Aix-en-Provence and a Maitrise of Comparative Literature from the University of Provence.
For 10 years, she’s been active in the cultural field as a project manager of various Euro-Mediterranean projects. Her field of research concerns the role of private foundations in the assertion of an Arab renaissance and the development of innovative cultural expressions after 9/11. She works in parallel as a free lance journalist on Middle Eastern and cultural issues for French and Italian publications.
